UPDATED: SEE BELOWShakeology 3 Day Cleanse

So I’ve been wanting to get healthy and lose some weight (really who doesn’t?), and after some research and talking to friends, I decided to give Shakeology a try. I’ve done meal replacement shakes before and been happy with the results, but the difference with Shakeology is that it isn’t simply a protein meal replacement shake. It is a true meal replacement in that it has all the nutrients you need in a meal. In fact, one shake is the equivalent of 5 salads or trips to the salad bar. I know I don’t get close to enough fruits and veggies in my diet, and if this shake could help with that, while also helping me to lose weight, then why not give it a try. I’ve always been weary about replacing meals with shakes that are simply made with protein and other fillers because I worry they can’t provide the nutrients I need. Those worries have disappeared with Shakeology.

I started replacing one meal a day with Shakeology on Monday, and I have to say I actually ENJOY drinking it. I ordered the chocolate flavored shake and it truly tastes like I am drinking a fudgesicle. I highly recommend this shake simply on it’s flavor alone. None of the other meal replacement shakes I’ve tried have even come close to tasting so good. Plus, and even more importantly to me, the Shakeology shake isn’t grainy, which is what I always disliked most about previous shakes I have tried.

I’m sorry if this is sounding like an advertisement for Shakeology, but I am just really excited about it and want to share in the event it might help someone else get more healthy or to get their body to where they want it to be.

Today I started the Shakeology cleanse (see above), and frankly I’m a little afraid. I love having a Starbucks non-fat Caramel Macchiato to wake me up in the morning, and for the next three days I’m going to have to stand strong and resist the urge. Good thing the green tea has a high caffeine content and may be able to help keep me awake. So far, so good, and I already have my salad ingredients ready to go for dinner tonight. I have no doubt I will be anxiously anticipating a “real” meal.

Wish me luck!

Since I am no expert in any of this, if you’re interested in learning more, I suggest checking out the Shakeology website!

So I completed the Shakeology cleanse on Sunday, and I have to say I am very happy with the results. It was not easy, and it was not fun (I really missed my Starbucks), but it was worth it. I lost 3.4 pounds, my cravings for crap food significantly decreased, I feel less bloated, I have more energy, and I lost an inch on my bust, waist, hips, thighs, and 3/4 of an inch on my biceps. All in three days! The loss in inches makes me believe the weight loss was truly fat and not just water weight. The hardest part was probably trying not to gorge myself on “real” food after the cleanse ended, but I’m still going strong on the regular Shakeology system and plan on doing the cleanse again in 3 months. If you think you can get through it, I highly recommend it!
