I spent this past weekend in New York City celebrating my sister’s baby shower. It was a beautiful shower and I am so glad I got to be a part of it. Of course since my sister is having a baby girl, the color theme was pink. By the time we were done decorating itlooked like a bottle of Pepto Bismol had exploded all over my sister’s apartment.
Here is the main table:
My brother in law was a great sport about having his apartment covered in pink and all things girly. My sister sporting her adorable baby belly:
My mom forced us to take this one…
The beautiful flower arrangements my sister made:
My mom had a local artist friend of hers paint this beautiful New York City themed poster for the shower.
For favors my mom made little sachets of godiva choclates and I got bottles of Essie’s Mademoiselle with little “It’s A Girl!” tags.
My mom made these chocolate covered Oreo and Thin Mint cookies. THEY WERE AMAZING. In case you’re interested in doing something similar, she used Wilton molds and chocolates to make them. “It’s A Girl!” Hershey’s Kisses! I had no idea they made these!
The delicious Berry Salad my sister made.
My sister ordered these adorable cake pops:
Champagne flutes with cute little name tags for each guest.
My sister made a delicious pink drink that had both a cocktail and mocktail option for everyone to enjoy. The night before she mixed frozen raspberries with mint and sugar, then put them in the fridge overnight to thaw. To make the drink you simply put a spoonful of the mixture in the champagne flute, then add Blood Orange Soda (from Whole Foods that’s low sugar). Next, you can either add Prosecco for the cocktail option or a splash of Raspberry Seltzer Water for mocktail option. Since I’m not a big drinker, I can’t speak for the one with Prosecco, but I can tell you the mocktail was delicious.
While we were decorating, I wasn’t sure what to do with all the balloons so I put them in the baby crib.
I was so happy to see my sister is using the countdown I made her. Only 9 weeks to go!
I think it is safe to say the shower was a success, but it was really just great to spend time with my mom and sister. I don’t get to see them often enough, and I treasured the time I spent with them this weekend.
